About Ben Freedman:

BenBen Freedman moved to the USA in 1996, after a security software company in which he was a partner was acquired by McAfee, the Anti-Virus folks. After this, and a short stint in Mexico working as a SCUBA instructor, Ben founded a telecommunications firm specializing in VoIP. When that was acquired in 2005, Ben began to look for other pursuits. Ben currently owns Roo Productions, a content creation firm that specialized in compression for the Internet. But above all of this, Ben is a huge techno-geek, and his love for something is often based on how many LEDs it has. Having said that, Ben is one of the few 'geeks' who understands that not everyone shares his love for tech for tech's sake, and that some people actually want products that really make life better. And so, to this end, balancing Ben's 'over-the-top' techie nature is his partner on the show, Tiffany Young...

About Tiffany Young:

TiffTiffany Young was born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska and move to Arizona in 1995 to finish college and work in her family owned infrastructure construction company. After receiving a BA in communications and obtaining an engineering license Tiffany began working full time in the company and quickly realized the practicality of having technology that works. Throughout the years, Tiffany has been experimenting with computers and gadgets always looking for a practical and simple personal and business solutions in technology. Although Tiffany shares an appreciation with Ben on cutting edge technology, experience has taught Tiffany that "cool" technology is not always "practical" technology and that is where "Ben-the-'over-the-top'-techie" and "Tiffany-the-'self-proclaimed-work-smarter'-techie" often disagree.

Wow--great job you two! Just saw my first episode about the Archos 700, DVD shrink, etc. Excellent tips and evaluations; very professional, plus good sound and video. I discovered your show because of your phone-in on KFI Tech Guy or TWIT, I forget which. I wish you success—nice show!

Good audio and video. I watched episode 8. It's always nice to hear people thoughts on a particular product but if your going to focus on reviewing technology then at least familiarize yourselves with the product and technology. You don't have to be technical but you should know at least something. For example in your review of the HP dv8000: to not know the difference between gloss and matte screens even though HP clearly explains the difference throughout their website(glossy gives a sharper more vibrant picture) is inexcusable. You should also understand that just because your reviewed model doesn't come with a built-in TV tuner or other components you wish it had, doesn't mean that HP doesn't sell those features as an additional option. If you plan on reviewing technology you dont have to be an expert in it but you should at least learn the basics before you open your mouths.

Thanks for the constructive comments. To answer some of your points: Yes, there are other options you can get from HP, but we have to go with the unit that was shipped to us, and with the price given. There are other models available with different options, but you often have to remove some of the options they sent to us to get those other options. Additionally, although HP says the glossy gives a sharper picture, we've heard conflicting arguments from different sources. It's certainly a popular theory, but hardly unchallenged.

Finally, I agree, we should know more than we do about the products, but unlike most techno shows, we try to present things from the POV of the average buyer, not the 'techno-geek'. Tiff will not always ready through pages of specs on each product to find out why a feature is a certain way, and if she wouldn't, it probably means most viewers wouldn't either. We try the products that are sent, and offer our opinions. Hey... we're not CNet, and since the whole show, staff and crew is just 2 people, I think we do the best we can.

I do appreciate your comments, and I hope you'll continue to watch.

Best,

Benjamin

I was watching the show on the Macbook Bags... and you talked about a Marware Sportfolio and you gave a link too, but the link does NOT match the bag you demonstrated. It shows the same name but the bag is $29.00 and doesn't have all those pockets.

If you are willing to buy real estate, you will have to get the loan. Furthermore, my mother always utilizes a financial loan, which is really fast.

Thanks for writing such an entertaining and, dear I say, edifying post. I should think it is in my best interest to discover what more positive and uplifting effects I can derive from reading other posts on this website - this is what I am thinking.
