Hey guys,
As usual, great show, I like the daily format. Also, thanks for sharing your gadgets with everyone. Ben, the USB light is a great idea. I bought a FlyLight a few years ago, and it's really made laptop use a lot easier. But, I like the all-in-one kit you showed with the mini-hub, great idea.
Tiffany, that little mouse is so cool. I just bought an Apple BlueTooth Mighty Mouse for my MacBook, and am very happy with it. But, it was a little pricey. If I'd known about the Logitech, I would've probably given it a try.
Also, Tiffany.... I heard you say you were on the edge of getting a MAC?! Treat yourself and just go buy a MAC! You won't regret it ;)
Seriously, the new Intel Macs are just great. Combine that with a secure, reliable operating system, great integrated software (iLife) and I think you'll be glad you switched.
I'm a sysadmin at a local college, so I spend my days working with NT servers. But, in addition to a few Dells, I've always owned Macintosh computers. I have an older Dual G5 PowerMac, but have recently purchased the Core Duo Mac Mini, and MacBook (I'm the one that sent in the screen photos). I have been extremely pleased with the Intel transition. These little wonders are very fast, and of course, you can't beat Apple hardware design and function.
IF you do get one, let us all know what you think about it. It would be a great segment.
Thanks again for the great work you guys do...
Alan Rothberg

Thanks for the product links. :-D
I have a homebuilt Media Center myself at home and have been contemplating a move towards NAS myself, though I would lean towards a bigger harddrive (gotta have room for those lossless audio files) and in a Raid-5 for redunancy. Plus a Giga-bit connection instead of the normal 100Mb.
Thanks for a quick and good review,
Bill
Enjoyed(?!) your new short show, if only it were longer. BTW what IS that white shiny spot that appears behind your head? I may have to post you a small piece of black masking tape.
Hi, Bill...
Good suggestion on the product links. Thanks.
Scott, thanks for the kind words. Once I can 'quit my day job', I hope to make the show longer.
There was an unnoticed white spot on our backdrop, but we'll remove it for the next shoot. It's very annoying, I know... :-)
Best,
Benjamin

Nice show, Ben. Simple and sweet. Was the Ultra2 use during the 24hourstaff pitch? Have you gone deeper with Ultra2? Enough to give it a seasoned rating yourself?
Howdy..
Ultra 2 is fantastic bit of software. My only wish is that it worked faster with HD footage, which is what Neo-Fight.tv is shot on. Not really the fault of the software, though. Another couple of years, and computers will have caught up..
Best,
Benjamin

Yes Tiffany, I've heard the term 'Prosumer'. ;-)
Is this product something that you folks use for your vodcast?
What kind of batteries does it use? Does it also utilize AC?
I'm not familiar with XLR input, is XLR a common input?
Thanks for a great episode today.
Bill
We don't use it for the daily show, but we may for some upcoming location shoots. It uses 2 X 9-volt batteries, or AC...
XLR is a 'professional' style of audio connector. Most pro-quality mics use them.
Thanks for watching..
Best,
Benjamin

Agree with Tiffany's score of 3/5 as I think that this HD cam is a product looking for a market and not the other way around.
One thing that was not mentioned was the resolution that it shoots at. Is it 720P? 1080i?
How about that link for the product in the show notes Ben? You are showing the webpage on the vodcast so I'm guessing you folks know the webpage address. ;-)
Interesting walk-around the studio/garage there. I would like to see a 'Behind-The-Scenes' type show one day. What cameras you use to shoot; what software you use to edit; etc. I just thought that walk-around was really interesting.
Don't know if I should be glad or sad that Tiffany wears pants on the set, but for the love of God get some real shoes, Ben. :-D
Thanks,
Bill
Great show. I just found you guys a few days ago. I love the fact that you bang this show out everyday. I know that is alot of work. I agree with Bill that the walkaround threw the studio was very interesting.
I,too, enjoyed the walk about, just one question, you appeared to be in an empty studio, yet when you sat down your main camera zoomed in on you, do you have a camera shy guy lurking in the shadows who pounces out when needed? Or what?
Thanks for all the kind words, guys...
We may do a 'behind the scenes' episode some day. Maybe for our 100th episode, God willing.. :-)...
We're working on the weblink to the product. Thanks for that suggestion...
We don't have a 'camera-guy'. We actually do all the zooms in 'post'...
Best,
Benjamin

Isn't there any none Ipod H.264 version available?
Howdy...
There is an iPod version, but not an H.264 version. We hope to have that running again shortly, however..

Benjamin

Interesting stats on your download versions. For myself, I grab the iPod version straight off iTunes so that I can watch it at work while processing my email.
I found myself wishing that this episode was a little longer 'cause I am interested in seeing the type of emails that you receive.
Now I gots to wait to Monday. :-(
Thanks Ben & Tiff and have a great weekend.
Bill
I liked the show more when it was 1 show a week. Now it the episodes are 1/5 as long and 1/5 as good. Go back to once a week.
Good Show but I was always told Lower text or 3rd should not cross over People face. Nice simple background and you and your co-host work good together, notice both of you are using ISOMMAX Microphones from Countryman.
Howdy...
I think you're right about the lower thirds. We'll work on fixing that.
If you liked the show longer, just download all 5 episodes on Friday, and watch them in a row - problem solved! :-)
Best,
Benjamin

Thanks for the review on this one. Been looking for something to sit on my desk at work so that I can listen to the amount of podcasts I download on a daily basis. After watching this I would have to agree with Tiffany's 3 out of 5 review.
Would be curious to see how this bounces against the offerings of iLuv.
Thanks,
Bill

I love your shows. You two and your staff do a great job. That said, I preferred the 1/2 hour format. It is easier to watch it once a week than 5 small segments. I am more likely to view your sponsors adds during the show than at the end.
Keep up the good work!
I have seen all shows since day 1.I love the show,I HATE your website. In order to get to the downloads, the page starts downloading automaticly the Flash version I don't want. You are suposed to know a thing or two about computers,I'm sure you could fix this. Make it so the user has to clik on a button before the show starts. It a big file to have to wait for.Am I doing somthing wrong? Is there a way to stop Flash version-the"stop"button(red X)in IE6 doesen't stop download. Also,I don't want to subscribe to Podcasts.I prefer to download manually.
Howdy... Thanks for the comments...
Please remember that we're podcasters, not professional journalists, and while we'd like to be someday, we're currently not doing this as our 'main gig'. While we're 'supposed to know a thing or 2 about computers', we're not web developers.
Once the show is self-supporting, and we're not using our own money to keep it afloat, I'd like to hire some 'real' web developers to create a more professional look for us. Until then, we're stuck with what little I can do in my 'spare' time :-)...
Most people have told us they prefer the flash version. It does download right away when you load the page, but it doesn't play until you hit 'play'. If you right-click and download one of the file-based versions, and then close your broswer window, the flash version should cease to download.
Hope that helps... Again, thanks for the comments. Good or bad, they all help.
Best,
Benjamin
Just watched you latest episode. Some thoughts:
1) I would like to see the website address for the product that you are reveiwing to be displayed either during the PODCAST or displayed in the show notes on the website. This would allow us to find further information on the product that is being discussed.
2) Ben, how can you give a product a 5 out of 5 if the software used to run the product is buggy and consistently crashes?
Keep up the great work.
Thanks,
Bill
Howdy...
Good idea about the website address link. We'll look into that.
The software didn't 'consistently crash', but did crash a couple of times, like I said. I still feel that the usefulness of the product rated a 5 out of 5, but a software update would be nice... :-)
Thanks for the comment..
Best,
Benjamin

Great job, guys. I first started watching these two boring people, and it wasn't too interesting. you guys have really taken critism well and implement new ideas and are now doing GREAT! You'e one of my favorite shwos now :)
Just got done watching this episode and wanted to mention a few things that should have been said during the review of the B60.
1) Green Mountain are not the only coffee makers to produce K-Cups. Gloria Jeans, Van Houtte, Timothy's, Tully's, Diedrich, and Newman's Own among others also produce K-Cups for this coffee maker.
2) Coffee is not the only drink available for this machine. Tea is also produced in K-Cups (Celestial Seasonings, Bigelow, Twinings, Timothy's, & Gloria Jeans). In addition, Ghiradelli also produces special packet sizes of Double Chocolate Hot Cocoa.
3) Mention should have been made that you can also buy empty, reusable K-Cups with reusable filters so that you can use your own blend of coffee if someone is not satisfied with what is currently available. No need to give up your favorite Starbucks blend.
I've been using the B60 for awhile now and am completely satisfied with what it does. My wife can enjoy her tea while I enjoy my coffee all without having to brew a whole pot. And it's fast.
Been watching your stuff since the beginning. Keep up the great work.

There was a bit of erroneous info on your Sunrocket Segment.
1. You forgot to mention Vonage's new V-Phone
and
2. you have to set up a whole new account to use Vonage's Softphone, it cannot be configured to be used with your normal vonage line. You do need to have an existing vonage line, but to use the softphone you have to sign up for it separately & it costs $10 a month for 500 minutes, so you're not tapping into your unlimited calling.
Another one to mention in terms of portability would have been the Vonage wifi phone.
I was just wondering whether or not either one of you actually plays video games. It would be kind of pointless to here a review of second life from people who don't play video games... Get more good all, it started out good and all and your products are getting less and less interesting.
