Ipod dock works great, as well as the radio...cd player sucks and skips constantly though!!

JM Montero said:

MJ Kirsten I agree with you, we have the same problems with this equipment. The Ipod dock and the radio work well but the cd and dvd player, it sucks. I lost the receipt I can not exchange it.

Brenda said:

Ya i just recently purchased the ilive clock radio and it didn't come with the AC adapter to plug it in. Not much good if you can't plug it in, so I phoned the company and they would not send me the AC adapter. Really nice glad to see they care about their customers.

Erica said:

Worst purchase ever made. Sound quality was great when it worked the first week. I bought the alarm clock/ ipod player, and it shorted out within the first month I had it so that the time could not be seen. The remote worked once and died. And now it has not even been a year and the machine does not work on ac adapter or batteries. The iLive company would not fix it, I could not return it because I got it for Christmas last year. I would strongly recommend proceeding with caution on this one. I was very disappointed to have my dad spend almost $100 on something that does not work less then a year later and barely worked past a month.

Yes. I am so p/o'd. I bought the same thing for my son for Christmas. It wouldn't even turn on. This is so embarrasing as we only gave out one gift to each child this Christmas because money was so tight. The thing cost $99 at walmart and I even tried the one that was on the shelf before buying. That poor child has had a really lousy Christmas because his one and only gift doesn't even WORK. Lesson learned. I wish I had read the reviews before buying this crappy product.

Pat said:

Received an iLive IB5 boombox yesterday. I liked the shape, looked convenient. Sound was tinny, but liveable. The remote barely worked. Other than the volume, the buttons on the box itself hardly work either--less than 5% of the time. Seems to be a common problem with other people. Most of the reviews I've read are poor. No quality control? I'm going to return this product as soon as I can and look for another brand.

Greg said:

I hoped i could connect it to my stereo, so that i can record myself but i guess i asked for tooo much to them. It doesn't do more than enhance sound when connected to a stereo on the one i bought.

First, I most say that it is very interesting and unique the way you both make the reviews of the different products!

Now, I saw that you, Ben, could not find a price for the "Sunny Universal Solar Charger" which you show us on Episode 181. It is $69 at USB.BRANDO.COM.HK (http://usb.brando.com.hk/prod_detail.php?prod_id=00304).

Well, hope that helped!

I like gadgets as well as the next geek, but come on, a $150.oo box to make a grocery list? What ever happened to writing down things on a scrap of paper? No batteries, no paper rolls, no misunderstandings on what I enter, no clunky thing taking up space where those cute pictures should be. I give it a 1 out of 5 only because Ben's wife actually finds it useful.

SmartShopper = Why? It's called a pen and a pad of paper.

Solar Chargers = Good idea but won't my ipod bake in the sun? And the Sunny Universal Solar Charger looks like a gutted Nintendo DS with solar panels in it.

The Cerwin Vega CVHD 5.1 looks like a nice speaker system but for that price it should have amplifiers and a digital decoder built-in, ready to plug into your upconverting DVD, Blue Ray or HD-DVD player and be ready to go. I think all the speaker companies have dropped the ball since none of them are making what people really need when they need it. Everyone buying a new HDTV could potentially use a 5.1 speaker system also.
Boston Acoustics makes a nice 2.1 system with built-in digital decoder and compact sub-woofer called the BA735 that has great sound and is plug-n-play on DVD players but they don't even make a 5.1 system! Klipsch used to make an amplified 5.1 system called the Promedia 5.1 but it's out of production. What are they thinking? They also make a nice 2.1 system called the Promedia 2.1 that has a huge sub-woofer and awesome sound but it's being phased out. They are $160 at Best Buy or $80 on the Klipsch website close-out section. Both the Klipsch systems can be found on ebay for around $40 but shipping is high and they don't have digital decoders, just analog stereo inputs. The Promedia 2.1 makes a fantastic computer speaker for playing videos though.

Hi Ben,
I cannot seem to be able to download this show using the latest version of iTunes. iTunes shows that is is downloading, ends downloading but afterwards the show appears as needing to be downloaded in my Podcast list. The same thing is happening for the Textra podcast but with no other video podcasts that I watch like 'Ted.' Just thought that you would like to know.
Take care,
George

There seems to be an issue with the MP4 version. It stops downloading at 150MB on both iTunes and from here on the site. Not sure if there is a problem with the other versions since i don't download them. Just thought i would let you know.

Ya, looks like the holiday weekend caught us sleeping. I've had many emails this morning about this problem. We'll try to have it fixed soon, and I'll post an update...

Thanks

I am having a lot of difficulty downloading your latest podcast in wmv or mp4 format. Generally I have problems with your site every week but usually after 1 or 2 tries I get the wmv file down. This week the download fails every time about 30% from the end.

Needless to say I don't have any problems with other site downloads and I have tried several computers.

Hi, Mark...

We had an issue yesterday, but it should be fixed today. Please try your download again, and thanks for your patience...
