Great episode!

... and I visited visitMyLuxuryHome.com ....

Nice new venture ... when will there be franchise opportunities in the very-tanked California real estate market. ,,, and will there be a visitMyGhettoSlumlordTaxWriteoff.com ? or a visitMyReallyGreatCondoEvenThoughTheHOAsucks.com ?

Meanwhile Neo-fight.tv rocks ... and did you know that Belkin has its headquarters in beautiful Compton, California?

Hello!

I am a big fan of your show and I would love to see a review of the Amazon Kindle. I don´t know if it will change our way of reading.

I remain a big fan of the show, but two things:
1.) I hope you realize that you broke your format in episode 214: No rating numbers! Where's the 4/5 + 5/5 = 9/10??

2) .. another try at this topic ...
Arizona must definitely not be like the more progressive parts of California (where I live): The implication that Indians (sub-continent-type obviously implied) are more disease-ridden than ... Arizonans? Ben's gratuitous and unnecessary slams against Indians (in previous episodes, gays, for example) only serve to turn off segments of your audience that are offended by such unnecessary opining.

And it surprising that Ben didn't figure out a way to slam Czechs or Hungarians, while on his rare and well-deserved european vacation. Is that because straight white people are inside the privileged slur-free zone?

And Ben .... for someone whose people may have been decimated in Nazi Germany during the Holocaust, isn't it particularly strange to have supremacist thinking when referring to gays and now Indians (at least you didn't mention something like how they all smell like curry, or some other stereotypical slam).

You asked for public postings in Episode 214, so here's my public 2 cents. I just don't understand why you don't want your show to have a gay or Indian (or other minority) following. I understand your wanting to not inhibit the free banter of your great podcast, but is there that much biased thinking in your worldview, that future unguarded moments will reveal more biased thinking about groups not yet mentioned, that has absolutely nothing to do with the purpose for your show, which is to be a techie review show "for the not-so-geeky?"

Why does the world-according-to-Ben (i.e., who's better than who) have anything to do with reviewing products?

I'm still perplexed by this, and I'd like to think its the playground-level repetition of adolescent slams against popularly-approved targets, rather than a thought-through deeply-held set of beliefs on your part. Is Arizona so in its own world on these issues that my comments seem extreme to you?

Tiffany & Ben,
I'm a great fan of your vodcast, watch it while I'm sitting bored in airports across Europe. One idea I have that I think would be really great for you to feature is that I use a nano iPod for watching movies, vodcasts, etc while I wait for delayed flights to arrive and then while sit for hours at +30,000 feet...but why are there no stands available for nano iPODS, it is such a pain to have to hold these things in your hand while you watch a movie. I did find one company on the web that were selling stands (can't remember their name) but they were quite expensive and also quite bulky, not the sort of thing you could easily put into your pocket. In the end I made my own stand from part of the original Apple box that the nano iPOD comes in plus another piece of plastic I found that I attach to the back with a rubber band. We live in a hi-tech world and I have to resort to finding bits of plastic and crafting things together with a rubber band...you can't be serious !!

There must be millions of nano iPOD users who are starting to use these neat little devices for movies, TV shows, vodcasts, etc so why no little neat comapact stands for them ??

I really enjoy your show, keep it going.

Ben, why is it that when I try to play any videos on Youtube the circular arrow goes around for a while in the center of the screen then I often get a message saying: "We're sorry, this video is no longer available" but if I keep clicking Reload it will eventually play? Sometime if it plays the first time and I go back and try to play it again I get the same message saying: "We're sorry, this video is no longer available" but since I just played it I know it's available.
I tried emailing Youtube but they weren't any help.

Hey guys! Love the show. The last two weeks, downloading has been excruciating. It took 6 hours last week, and this week looks to be on its way to a 5 hour and 15 minute download. Did you guys switch to dialup? ;)

Where's the last Mac advert? lol. Brilliant stuff, that vacuum one was funny, i think u've lost a bit of that cheekyness u used to have, like the chemistry, but it makes me laugh how ben just keeps talking when doesn't agree, but interrupts alot too... I still prefer "The technology review with two points of view to the new one... but you know... that's just me...

It also takes me a couple hours to download but I thought that was just me. It also takes a couple hours to watch the flash version with it really annoying.

Loved the Apple commercial, that was the best I've ever! Enjoy your vacation.

Michael said:

Hmmmm, I wonder why Randy and Steve are having problems downloading?

The Flash version is coming in at over 9 Mbps for me on my 15 Mbps Mediacom Cable connection.

SteveC said:

There's no such thing as a Mediacom 15 Mbps connection! I had Mediacom and it sometimes went up to 2 Mbps but the service went out every other day so the average speed was more like 28 Kbps.

Michael said:

Steve C,

Sorry you've had problems with Medicom... but here in Centerville, Iowa it is running great.

Just did a speed test and got 13,798 kbps down and 1,078 kbps up and that's at peak usage time... 8pm DSCT.

Here in Centerville, the download is scheduled to be increased to 20,000 kbps in the very near future.

Mediacom spent a boat load of money on equipment upgrades here here just about 2 months ago and we have been put on our own seperate node. The local tech said that we are at the end of the line and will never be required to share the node with another community.

Lies! All lies!

Michael said:

Steve C,

Sorry... I don't lie.

What city have you experienced Mediacom in?

And no... I don't work for Medicacom, I'm a professional portrait photographer here in Centerville, Iowa.
